"I am so happy with the experience that I just had at compassionate care. It was more than I realized was possible from a veterinarian. Max (my special needs anxious rescue dog) we so well taken care of and I feel an immense amount of gratitude that I found this vet. I have a dog with behavioral issues that needed emergency care. They were friendly, helpful, caring, accommodating, every other word that you could possibly imagine. They went well out of their way to help me. They were willing to stay after hours on a Friday to care for my pet. I feel like this is the veterinary care that I have been looking for for years. "This is one of the absolute best vet clinics I have ever visited! I just moved to Ann Arbor, and my rescue dog (very anxious and has some fear based aggression issues) had a minor emergency. I called this vet first because it is the only one in town I could find that was fear free certified. I was so impressed with how kind, calm, and skilled the technicians were - even getting a muzzle on Sparky without him even realizing or getting upset. I am also excited that Dr. Forbes has training in behavioral medicine (which is hard to find). Everyone was so kind to both me and Sparky, and for the first time ever, he left a vet office happy/ not stressed! "Everyone here truly love what they do. Helping animals and their fur parents to find a healthy path for their pets. My husband and I adopted a 5 year old lab mix 8 months ago and she has slowly been warming up to everyone in her new life, including the great people at Compassionate Care. The first time we brought her to Compassionate Care she was very very anxious and would hide behind me, hide under chairs etc. She would not let the staff get close to her let alone examine her. Our vet, Dr Forbes, suggested that we take her in for "treat-visits" a few times a month to get her used to the place and the staff. Of course we took them up on their suggestion as they have far more experience with this than we do. We have been taking her in a few times a month for the last 7 months now and yesterday we reaped the reward in a big way. Our dog used to need anti anxiety pills before any examination and yesterday I decided not to giver her any pills before we went, just to see if there had been any improvements. Turns out that our frequent "treat-visits" to Compassionate Care has paid off, our doggie would let Dr Forbes examine her yesterday without much wiggling & whining and no hiding under chairs."

I have been to a different vet and they told me we would have to “muzzle her” because of her “mouthy behaviour” and there have been no issues at CCAH! "My dogs had both been at another popular Ann Arbor vet for many years, but I felt they stopped caring about my dogs and whenever my dog would have a serious health concern or emergency they wouldn’t be able to see them for months.

I found Compassionate Care after seeing the good reviews online, as well as it being close to our home. Well the reviews weren’t wrong, this place is the best! I called on a Friday and was able to get my dog seen next Tuesday for some serious skin issues that was causing my dog to be very miserable.

The pick up/drop off was easy. The vet called me to thoroughly discuss options and treatment for my dog. They didn’t only immediately find a solution to relieve her discomfort but they are also doing testing to find a long term solution as well.

I felt we received better care in just one appointment than my dog has received in years of appointments for her health issues at the previous vet.

My dog has been known to be nervous and aggressive to his doctor so when I brought him to CCAH for gastrointestinal issues, that had been going on for years with no answers from other vets, I was nervous that I was never going to find a solution because he was aggressive. Dr. Forbes met him and treated him like he was her own dog with love and compassion for what he was going though and what I was feeling. Because she and her staff were so open and loving HE WAS NOT AGGRESSIVE AT ALL. He loves it there and they love him."
